Practice Statistics

Each year the Society surveys its members and compiles a Statistics Report on Medical and Dental Income and Expense Averages.

The report is a joint effort of the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants and the Academy of Dental CPAs. The survey includes information on overhead percentages, average monthly charges in accounts receivable, full time equivalent staff ratios, and more.

The 2010 Joint Statistics Report Based on 2009 Data features data from over 2,900 professional practices representing over 6,000 FTE doctors.

The 2009 Joint Statistics Report Based on 2008 Data features data from over 2,800 professional practices representing over 5,800 FTE doctors.

The 2008 Joint Statistics Report Based on 2007 Data features data from over 2,200 professional practices representing over 4,600 FTE doctors.

The 2007 Joint Statistics Report Based on 2006 Data features data from over 2,100 professional practices representing over 4,400 FTE doctors.

The 2006 Joint Statistics Report Based on 2005 Data features data from over 2,600 professional practices representing over 4,900 FTE doctors.

Each report covers 60 dental and medical specialties including Family Practice, General Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Orthodontics.

The cost for the full report in PDF format is $500 for members and $800 for non-members. The cost for each specialty report in PDF format is $100 for members and $250 for non-members. The full report with added features is free for members that contribute data!
